Borobudur and Prambenan in Yogjakarta, Indonesia - 2002
In the middle of the island of Java stands the city of Yogjakarta which
is considered to be the cultural center of Indonesia. Before the arrival
of Islam, Hindhuism and Buddhism played a significant role and left
two massive temples: the Borobudur of Buddhism religion and the Prambenan

Son Khran Festival in Bangkok, Thailand - 2002
Two weeks in April are considered to be hottest time of the year in
Thailand. The temperatures can rise up to 45 degrees. Thai people celebrate
for a few days this critical time, by partying and playing with water.
The entire country is at rest only for the people, especially youngsters,
to enjoy this particular time. See

gave to people new hopes for a better living, a better future. However,

Cockfighting in Bali, Indonesia - 2001
In Bali, cockfightings play a very important role in their society.
Everyday, it is possible to find a place where people gather to play
and bet on this game. However, spilling the blood on the ground is also
for the Hindu Balinese people extremely important for the Gods. It is
an important part of their religion to appease the Gods by giving them

People of Sumba, Indonesia - 2002
Sumba, a remote island between Timor in the East and Sumbawa in the
West, is a place that is well known for the 'ikats', a traditional fabric
they produce locally. These fabrics are considered to be the best of
Indonesia and local people wear them for special ceremony and events. See

Children in the City of Jakarta, Indonesia - 2001 / 2003
Jakarta, the Capital City of Indonesia, is the place where most business
and political decisions are made. However, the city is made up of many
inner villages where people try to cope with their own daily business
and activities. Children are left there, after school or after their
religious duties, in the street, a smile on their face but not a bright

Demonstration in Paris, France, against the planned war in Irak - 2003
In February this year, took place around the World, huge demonstrations
against the planned war in Irak, by a few politicians in the Pentagon.
As we can see today, the people's voice was not heard, the planned war
took finally place and was raged for a few weeks. Here follows a photography
